Recovery Process of Scrub Nurses¡¯ Presence through Enneagram

Abstract
|
|
|
Purpose:This study was carried out in order to understand the essence of experience of the recovery process of scrub nurses¡¯ presence through the Enneagram and to develop a substantive theory.
Methods:The subjects of this study were 14 scrub nurses, and the collected data were analyzed with open coding, axial coding, selective coding and process analysis based on Strauss and Corbin¡¯s grounded theory (1998).
Results:As a result of the analysis, 75 concepts, 24 sub-categories and 12 categories have been drawn out. the 12 categories include ¡®excessive¡¯, ¡®loss of intimacy¡¯, ¡®demand for change¡¯, ¡®loss of presence¡¯, ¡®self-discovery¡¯, ¡®looking back¡¯, ¡®Making a conscious efforts¡¯, ¡®Making a continuous Motivation¡¯, ¡®self-acceptance¡¯, ¡®crouching¡¯, ¡®relations forming¡¯ and ¡®pushing away.¡¯ The scrub nurses¡¯ recovery experience though the Enneagram was a process of solving the phenomenon of ¡®loss of presence,¡¯ and as its core category, ¡®recovery of presence¡¯ was drawn out.
Conclusion:The participants in this study recovered their presence as professional scrub nurses as understanding themselves and accepting others through the Enneagram.
